Lanarkshire Bonsai Club Meeting 04/01/2015

Our first club meeting of the year was held today at Wattston Bonsai. Extremely cold weather depleted our numbers today to about 10 members. The main topic on the agenda was our forthcoming trip to the Noelander’s Trophy next month. Hazel brought along a little larch group which was allowed to grow freely last year to increase ramification. It was wired and given an initial styling on the day by Robert Porch

By consensus, this was considered to be the best front

However this side also has potential, I think

Next Sunday we are off to a small winter image show run by the Ayr Bonsai Club in the town of Alloway, birthplace of Robert Burns

    • I think it’s about 20 this year, Ben. For most of us, it’s the highlight of our bonsai year, so yes it’s very exciting. The only thing that would top it for me would be to have some trees accepted for the show. Maybe, in a year or twos time I’ll have enough good trees to put a group in for selection.
